Dr. Elaine Pretorius MBChB, FCP(SA), FRACP
Dr Elaine Pretorius trained and specialised in South Africa. She has dual fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a General Physician and Endocrinologist. Before leaving South Africa for the United Kingdom she worked in her own private practice. She went on to complete further training in Endocrinology in Cambridge. She came to Australia in 2004 and joined the Flinders Medical Centre, where she worked in the General Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Endocrinology.
Dr Pretorius is the Medical Head of the Division of Medical Subspecialties, North Adelaide Local Health Network. Her special interests include Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Menopause, Insulin Pumps and Diabetic Foot Disease. Dr Pretorius has a strong commitment to the Safety and Quality of patient care and to teaching of junior medical staff.
She is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Health Management.
Dr Pretorius finished consulting at Nunyara House Specialist Medical Centre in June 2015.
